Dog Banners – Papillon

Papillon means "butterfly” in French, although several countries lay claim to being the birthplace of these delicate toy dogs with the unique winglike ears. Marie Antoinette is said to have given the breed its name, calling hers Petite Papillon, or "Little Butterfly”. Breeders are careful with placement of Papillons in homes with large dogs, as Papillons can never be convinced that they are toy dogs.
