Most residential flagpoles are 20' or 25' and use a 3x5' to 5x8' flag. If flying two flags, step down in size so the square footage does not excessively exceed that largest recommended flag size in total square feet.

Small industrial and commercial buildings generally use 5x8' to 6x10' flags on 25' to 35' flagpoles.
